Grateful Patient Program: HEROES

At Prisma Health, your patient experience is top priority. We want to be remembered by each patient as providing the care and compassion we want for our families and ourselves. Those who have been touched by the outstanding care they received at Prisma Health often look for a way to show their gratitude through kind words, letters of thanks and financial contributions.

You can be part of Prisma Health Midlands Foundation's HEROES program, Hospital Employee Recognition of Excellent Service, to recognize the care you or a loved one received as a patient served by Prisma Health. Your grateful patient gift may be made in honor of an entire staff or an individual physician, nurse or health care professional that had an impact on your experience. Gifts to Prisma Health Midlands Foundation allow Prisma Health to continue to offer a diverse range of services and programs targeted to meet specific community needs. Your contribution will stay right here in our community and will have a significant impact on the lives of many, including your family, friends and neighbors.

When you're a Prisma Health patient, you are a member of the Prisma Health family. Let's stay connected!  If you have a patient experience you would like to share, send it to

Estate Planning Program

A planned gift is a charitable contribution established during a donor's lifetime that may not be received in full by Prisma Health Midlands Foundation until the donor's death. It provides an opportunity for charitable giving in circumstances that may not otherwise allow a donor to make a gift to a charitable organization. This type of gift is often made through wills, insurance policies and trusts that allow a donor to invest money so the donor receives benefits during his/her life and then bequests the remaining funds to the Foundation. Some planned gifts are structured so the Foundation receives regular contributions during the donor's lifetime while the donor receives charitable deductions and other tax benefits. Planned giving can be in the form of cash, real estate, stocks or other resources.

Prisma Health Midlands Foundation is pleased to extend a special invitation to you to learn whether you have the most current estate plan that best meets your goals. Prisma Health Foundation has contracted with Thompson & Associates to provide charitable estate planning expertise to donors at no cost. Thompson & Associates is a national leader in estate planning, and its team has nearly 250 years combined experience in non profit executive leadership and charitable estate planning. All information shared with Thompson & Associates remains strictly confidential, and Prisma Health Foundation will never have access to your personal information. Should you ultimately choose to leave a gift to Prisma Health Foundation, the Foundation will never know unless you decide to inform us.

30th Walk For Life and Famously Hot Pink Half Marathon, 5K + 10K

We’re celebrating the 30th birthday of Walk for Life! For years, we’ve been walking and running for Prisma Health Breast Center in Columbia, S.C. We’re moving to a virtual Walk for Life and Famously Hot Pink Half Marathon, 5K + 10K this fall. You can lace up and get moving in your own neighborhoods or nearby parks—all while continuing your support of patients and families faced with breast cancer.

Taking Children's Hospital on the Road

At this time, it’s best for some medically fragile children to stay home. To help reduce any risk of these children being exposed to COVID 19, pediatric subspecialists and team members have been hitting the road in the Prisma Health Mobile Health Unit to see the children in their own communities.

They’re “Taking Children’s Hospital on the Road,” and we’re committed to keeping those wheels turning! Champions Society and Rising Champions, annual giving societies for Prisma Health Children’s Hospital—Midlands, invite you to be part of their campaign to support this incredible mobile program for the kids.
