Palmetto Health to close Baptist Parkridge spa; medical office remains open

Posted on 9/16/2017

Palmetto Health is closing its spa, located at 300 Palmetto Health Pkwy. at Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge, effective Saturday, Sept. 16. The medical aesthetics, reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery services provided by plastic surgeon Peter Haines, M.D., will continue in the same location at Baptist Parkridge. Haines now is part of the Palmetto Health-USC Plastic Surgery practice.

“After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to close the spa,” said Sarah Kirby, Chief Operating Officer at the Baptist Parkridge campus. “We value the unique opportunity we’ve had to offer therapeutic spa services to patients, guests and the community. With the ongoing changes impacting the health care industry nationally, regionally and locally, we’ve decided to refine our business strategy to refocus on our core clinical areas of delivering health care. We’re grateful to our loyal spa customers who have enjoyed services at the spa, and proud of the exceptional customer experience our team members have provided.”

Palmetto Health’s spa customers with standing appointments are being notified of the closing. A full refund for any unredeemed spa gift cards will be provided by Palmetto Health. Customers with gift cards can come to the spa Tuesday–Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with their gift cards, provide a preferred mailing address and receive a receipt. Palmetto Health will mail a check within two weeks. Gift cards will be redeemed through the expiration date on the cards. Through Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, Palmetto Health also will offer the opportunity for cardholders to redeem their cards for spa products while supplies last. Beyond that date, we will only provide refunds by check. For auditing and tracking purposes, we must ask customers to bring their unredeemed gift cards to us in person.

Customers with prepaid memberships are being contacted and will receive prorated refunds with the amount due.
