The prize comes with a $100,000 award that will be used for community health initiatives and partnerships.

Beaman said, “Every day more than 10,000 team members, physicians and volunteers live our vision, ‘to be remembered by each patient as providing the care and compassion we want for our families and ourselves’ to guide the care they provide. I’m honored that the American Hospital Association is recognizing their hard work as we continue to strive to improve the physical, emotional and spiritual health of all individuals and communities we serve.”

Other 2014 finalist winners include Spectrum Health System in Grand Rapids, Mich., White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif. and The Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa.
