WHEN:                 Sunday, April 15

TIME:                    3–5 p.m.

FACTS:                  The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) hosts a spring party to celebrate the lives of all babies who remained in the NICU for a period of time before going home. The event offers an opportunity for families to reconnect with the physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and staff who cared for their babies. This year’s celebration has a beach theme, with refreshments, face painting, photo booth, puppet show, sports team mascots, games and crafts for children and their families. “We look forward to hosting the spring party every two years and expect more than 50 families to attend,” said Kimberly Beasley, registered nurse, NICU.  “There usually are several families with twins and triplets. It is gratifying to see the children again and see how much they grow and change.”

INTERVIEWS:     NICU physicians and families will be available for interviews.
