Jennifer France, M.D., of Palmetto Health’s Pediatrics Residency program, received the 2015 Resident of the Year award. France received a plaque, a certificate and $2,500 for winning the award, which has been a Palmetto Health tradition since 2002. The award not only acknowledges residents’ medical knowledge and abilities, but also recognizes their commitment to Palmetto Health’s values of compassion, dignity, excellence, integrity and teamwork.

In France’s award nomination, Robert Holleman, M.D., director of the Pediatrics Residency Program, said, “She epitomizes the values put forth by Palmetto Health. Her strengths truly lie in her compassion, dedication to others and integrity, which are clearly reflected in her efforts to improve the quality of care provided to the children of our community, as well as her staunch work in the realm of child advocacy— locally and nationally. There is no doubt that our patients and their families will benefit from her efforts long after she leaves our program.”

She will be returning to Cincinnati to practice medicine in general pediatrics, with the goal of serving the Northern Kentucky metropolitan area. She aspires to be involved with the American Academy of Pediatrics in a leadership position, just as she served as resident member of the executive board during her residency.

Other residents nominated for the award include: Kristen Nathe, M.D., Orthopaedic Surgery; Mary Beth Seegars, M.D., Internal Medicine; Chris Gainey, M.D., Emergency Medicine; Shane Dalal, D.O., General Psychiatry; Yolanda Mines, M.D., OB/GYN and Jamie King, M.D., Family Medicine. Each nominee received a certificate of recognition and a $250 cash award.
