In recognition of Earth Day, April 22, Palmetto Health, in partnership with Shred A Way, is encouraging the community to recycle with a free shred day, Friday, April 20, 9 a.m.–1 p.m., Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge, 400 Palmetto Health Parkway, parking lot. Please only bring paper without binder clips to be shredded. No spiral notebooks with metal or three-ring binders will be accepted.

Earth Day was created 48 years ago to demonstrate the need for a healthy, sustainable environment for our communities. What else can you do to help conserve the Earth’s resources? Here are a few options:

  • Reduce your use of plastic by using fewer disposable items such as plastic plates, silverware and straws.
  • Reuse and recycle plastic.
  • Replace plastic shopping bags with reusable totes.
  • Pick up trash to beautify and protect your community.
  • Plant trees to help clean our air.
