EVENT: Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital and Kohl’s Buckle Buddies offer car seat safety checks
WHEN: Tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 22
TIME: 2-5 p.m.
PLACE: Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, Seven Richland Medical Park, parking lot in front of building
FACTS: In South Carolina, four out of five car seats are installed or used improperly, increasing the risk of injury to children. “In the car seat safety checks that we do, the majority of them are installed wrong. People don’t realize that car seats need to be checked and must be installed properly to protect children,” said Buckle Buddies coordinator Kevin Poore.
“Most parents try to do what seems right to them, but it may not be correct or safe. It is best to have an expert check your child’s car seat,” said Poore.
