We offer a variety of programs to address injury prevention for people of all ages. Program aims include educating youth about the consequences of their choices, showing children how to reduce risks of traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, and working to help older adults to recognize risk factors for and implement strategies to prevent falls.
The "Hundred Hands of Trauma" was coined when a trauma surgeon reached out his hand to a mother whose daughter’s life was in jeopardy as they boarded the elevator for the operating room. Later, the surgeon stated, "Me reaching out is just one hand that she sees or that the family sees, but there's a hundred hands that are involved in the care of a trauma patient."
