Palooza with a Purpose
The Pink Posse Presents "Palooza with a Purpose" on Friday, September 24th at Dogwood Park (in Lexington. Tickets are $40 per person and includes: BBQ dinner by Dupre Catering, music by "Jumpstart", a live and silent auction, line dancing, beverages & lots of fun! Cupcakes!
Walk for Life team captain Anuka Champaneri is taking cupcake orders now through September 15. The cupcakes are $1 each and are baked by Anuka. All the money raised will benefit Palmetto Health Foundation and Palmetto Health Breast Center. Orders will be ready Friday of each week. Gone Fishing!
For all you lady anglers out there, consider donating $2 for a chance to win a Lady Endeavor Baitcast rod and reel by Pluegger. The drawing will be held September 17. This fundraiser is being coordinated by Diane Gunter, a Walk for Life team captain, and all donations will benefit Walk for Life. Pink Posse Beads at Dems
In honor of Palmetto Health Foundation's 20th Anniversary Walk for Life, the limited edition 20th anniversary Walk for Life bead is available exclusively at Dems Fine Jewelers through October 2010. 20% of the proceeds will given to Palmetto Health Foundation to benefit Palmetto Health Breast Center.
Dems also is supporting the effort of The Pink Posse in raising funds to help fight breast cancer, to aid in research, education and patient support for Palmetto Health Breast Center. The price of each of Pink Posse bead is $38. They can be purchased at Dems Fine Jewelers at 1068 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo SC. (803) 407-5290. They can also be purchased by mail or phone.

Torch Relay
Because of the last year's success, Columbia has again been chosen to host Torch Relay for 2010! Columbia is one of only 43 cities nationwide to host Torch Relay for Children's Miracle Network! The event will be held Sunday, November 7 and includes a 5K walk. Stay tuned for more details!

Kohl's Cares for Kids
Everyone knows books are good for children, but Kohl's brings new meaning to the idea of books benefiting America's youth. Since the inception of Kohl's Cares for Kids® in 2000, Kohl's has turned $5 books and plush into more than $102 million for children's initiatives nationwide while providing affordable books for millions of eager readers. Locally, since 2004 Kohl's Cares for Kids® has raised nearly $300,000 for Safe Kids Midlands led by Palmetto Health Children's Hospital.
